FH Donates Third Truckload of Medical Equipment to Dominican Republic Hospital

6/4/2009

A third shipment of medical equipment from Florida Hospital Heartland Division left the dock this morning bound for a Dominican Republic hospital. This humanitarian effort, put together with hard work from Florida Hospital’s Mission and Ministries Department, highlights their mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ.

The $97,000 donation, which includes anesthesia and sonogram machines, exam beds and chairs, endoscopy carts, oxygen tents, lab incubators, infant warmers, refrigerators, and multiple pallets of medical supplies, is headed to Centro Medico Vista Del Jardin Hospital in Santo Domingo. The shipment also includes three new bicycles for their security to patrol the hospital grounds.

As FHHD upgrades and replaces equipment, the original, still-viable equipment makes its way to this third-world country to continue service. “Florida Hospital Heartland Division is a sanctuary of healing,” said Chaplain Juan Colon. “We want to share our blessings with others who are less fortunate.”

The fully loaded semi truck should arrive late next week and be a welcomed addition to the southern medical facility. “Florida Hospital Heartland Division is blessed to be a sanctuary of healing with modern equipment,” says Chaplain Bey Gonzalez. “We want to share our blessings with others who are less fortunate.”
