FOUNDATION
With Christ as our example, we exist to assist in restoring and promoting the health and quality of life to those we serve. We are an organization of visionary leaders, dedicated to sharing the true spirit of philanthropy and developing resources to meet community needs.
All contributions raised will be used to benefit our entire community. With your help we are able to build needed facilities, purchase lifesaving equipment, and offer community wellness programs. We also sponsor nursing scholarship programs, and use funding for recruiting and supporting much needed physician specialists.
As a mission driven organization we believe strength and growth have little virtue unless they work to benefit others. Our primary goal is to extend the healing ministry of Christ by developing lasting friendships in our community.
HOW WE RAISE THE MONEY
Contributions to the Foundation are done through a variety of opportunities. A Campaign pledge is used when a donor pledges a gift amount to a specified project or need the hospital may have at that time.
Fundraisers are also done throughout the year. This gives the community and employees an opportunity to participate in programs, events, and tournaments. Proceeds from these functions are then designated for a project or cause. An example of this is our Child Learning Center which was funded by our largest fundraiser, the Gala. Florida Hospital Heartland Division Foundation’s Gala began thirteen years ago with the hard work of a few individuals who had a vision for an elegant and entertaining way to help advance the cause of health care in the Heartland. Now, the Gala includes the Kids Day Art Contest, 5K Run/Walk, Golf Tournament, Silent Auction, and the signature Black-tie Dinner. Through the years, the Foundation has provided entertainment at the Gala such as The Oak Ridge Boys, Amy Grant, Sandi Patty, and Frank Sinatra, Jr. Olivia Newton-John, Art Linkletter, Mark Lowry, and more.
The Foundation, together with the employees at Florida Hospital Heartland Division, have joined forces in offering an employee assistance fund called the "Caring Heart Assistance Fund." This fund is available to all employees who are in need of financial assistance with medical bills, medical leave of absence, or personal issues. The employees of FHHD graciously give through payroll deduction to this program, knowing that their dollars are helping to make a difference with their hospital family. Other opportunities to give to this campaign are through the purchase of the employee cookbook “From the Heart”, which is on sale at all three campuses for $15.
WHERE WE SPEND THE MONEY
Florida Hospital recognizes the need to grow with the community. And with this growth comes the demands to recruit and retain dedicated staff members. This became a challenge that the Foundation felt it was capable of taking on and decided that a Child Learning Center might be the way to help meet this growing need.
Since then, the Foundation has been working diligently to raise funds through our Gala events toward the implementation of this project. Today, we are seeing this vision come to pass with the new Child Learning Center. None of this would be possible with out the contributions from our community friends and dedicated sponsors Stevens Construction, KDL, and Jhana Concrete. And for that we extend our gratitude to all who helped us make this vision a reality. As parents, seeing our children being nurtured, growing and learning in a safe and happy environment reassures us that Florida Hospital and this community cares for our kids.
