We welcome each patient to our home-style skilled nursing unit at Florida Hospital Wauchula. With the skills of our exceptional staff and private rooms, we provide a pathway to better health. The unit is for individuals needing care but no longer requiring acute care.
Treatment Healing: What To Expect
We want to make each patient’s stay as comfortable as possible. Helpful information will be provided because many of the routines and procedures may be unfamiliar to you.
Admission
To qualify for admission, a physician must admit you after a hospital stay of three days or longer. Patients may be admitted directly from the hospital or within 30 days immediately following hospital discharge (for the same diagnosis).

Visitors
- Friends and loved ones are an important part of the healing process and may visit at any time.
- Children must be accompanied by an adult.
- Guests should not visit if they have colds, sore throats or other contagious diseases.
- Clergy may visit at any time. The hospital provides Chaplains for you or you can have the nursing staff contact your clergymen.

Homelike Setting
Florida Hospital Wauchula is licensed as a Critical Access Hospital. The 25-bed inpatient unit is a mixed unit which delivers care to acutely ill patients and patients who need short term rehab. In the skilled nursing unit, care is provided to patients who have been in the hospital and need interim care in a homelike setting. We strive to make each patient’s stay a comparable to home as possible.
